Statement of Faith

Flames of Fire Ministry accepts the Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all sufficient rule of faith and practice, and adheres to these Statements of Fundamental Truths and Doctrine.

§  The Scriptures Inspired    We believe that the Bible, Old and New Testament, is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior  to conscience and reason.  (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12)

§  The Godhead   We believe there is one true God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect, eternally existent, and manifested in three distinct persons….the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (the Trinity).    (Matt. 28:19; Gen. chap 1, John chap 1)

§  The Fall of Man   We believe that man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness.”  But, man, by voluntary transgression, fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but spiritual death.   (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7, Ro. 5:12-21)

§  The Salvation of Man  We believe in the death of Jesus Christ as a sin sacrifice for humanity, His resurrection into life and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.  Man’s only hope of redemption is through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  Salvation is received through repentance toward God and confession of Jesus as Lord.  (Ps. 103:3; Ro. 10:9-13)

§  The Evidences of Salvation   We believe that the inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Ro. 8:16).  The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness.  (Eph. 4:21-24)

§  Grace, Faith, and Works   We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works; it is the gift of God.  Our works, however, will determine the rewards in eternity.  (Rom. 10:9-10, 2 Cor. 5:10, Eph. 2:8)

§ The Church  The church has a mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin.  We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.  (Eph. 1:22; 2:19-22; Heb. 12:23)

§  Baptism in Water   We believe that the ordinance of baptism by immersion should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have repented and in their hearts have truly believed on Christ as Saviour and Lord.  In so doing, they declare to the world that they identify with Jesus as their Saviour and are raised to the newness of life. (Matt. 28:19; Acts 10:47, 48; Ro. 6:4)

§  Communion   We believe that the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance to the church and the symbolic reminder of Jesus’ suffering and our redemption.  The bread represents his body, which was broken for our total physical and emotional healing and well-being.  The cup represents his blood, which was shed for the remission of our sins.  (1 Cor. 11:24-28)

§  The Baptism With the Holy Spirit    We believe that all Christians are entitled to, and should ardently expect and earnestly seek, the promise of the Father, the Baptism with the Holy Spirit.  With this experience comes the endowment of power for life and service.  (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-8)   This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth.   (Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 19:1-6)

§  The Evidence of Being Filled with the Spirit   We believe that the initial physical sign of being filled with the Spirit is speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, as well as the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service.   (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, 10:44-46, 19: 2-6)

§  Total Prosperity    We believe that prosperity touching every facet of life is available to the believer through faith in God’s promises.
Spiritual Restoration       Jn 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17-21; Ro. 10:9-10
Emotional Peace             2 Tim. 1:7; Ro. 12:2; Is. 26:3
Physical Healing & Health   Is. 53:4-5; Mat. 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24
Financial Abundance         3 Jn 1:2; Mal.3:10-11;Lk 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:-6-10
Social Well-Being           Prov. 3:3-4, Ps. 115:12-15

§  The Blessed Hope  We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus to gather all Christians to live with Him forever.  This rapture of the church is our blessed hope. (1 Cor. 15:51-52, 1 Thes. 4:16-17; 2 Thes. 2:1)

§  The Millennial Reign of Jesus  We believe there will be a literal return of our Lord Jesus Christ with His saints from heaven after the tribulation period to rule and reign for one thousand years on earth.  (Ro. 11:25, 27; 2 Thes. 1:7-10, Rev. 19:11-16; 20:1-7)  After this, there shall be a new heaven and a new earth.

§  Final Judgment   We believe that the final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ.  They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a lake of fire.  (Rev. 19:20, 20:10-15)
